We're located about 4.3km outside of the town centre in Blenheim - that's less than a 10 minute drive. We can assist with arranging a taxi/shuttle or even drive you ourselves if we're available.
We were delighted to be hosted by Gerrie and Bruce in their beautiful home during our stay in Blenheim. We were given a lovely en-suite room, beautifully decorated with its own little garden area - the perfect backdrop for a few glasses of wine on the evening we arrived. The room had its own side access so we could come and go freely without disturbing other guests.
It’s clear that Gerrie and Bruce are all about making their guests feel valued, starting with a personalised welcome sign at the front door. They left a folder in the bedroom that has all the information you could ask for about local restaurants (including take out menus) shops and wine tours, brochures promoting things to do in the area, with maps provided. It was all there to hand, including the WiFi password.
There was a little bowl of fruit on the table in our room, alongside some wine glasses, a selection of coffees and tea, with fresh juice and water in the fridge. The bed was very comfy and there were plenty of extra pillows available in the room if we needed them. Heated blankets were also in place, although we stayed during the summer, so didn’t need to turn these on. The bathroom had a fabulous shower and hot tub, with underfloor heating and a selection of locally produced shampoo, conditioner and hand/body lotions. Again.. as it was summer we didn’t need the heating on but I can imagine it would be a nice touch in the colder months.
Breakfast was a lovely spread of cereals, toast, fresh fruit, homemade yoghurt and preserves. The perfect start to the day! Gerrie and Bruce were so accommodating and had no trouble offering recommendations and finding out information for us. Bruce even offered to drive us into town in the evening, as we were planning to go on some wine tours during the day, which was very kind!
We loved our stay at Tawny Hills B&B and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Blenheim.
